Livonia in Sea Parade, Port MacDonnell (named for the ship on which the Wilke family arrived in Australia) was the family home of Rudolf and Maria Wilke.
Harold (4th son of Rudolf and Maria) and Mary raised their seven children in a smaller house in the street behind Harold's parents' home until it eventually passed to Harold.
The home in Sea Parade was large and rambling with some parts dating back many years. It was situated in a prime position right on the sea front, but this was not always a good thing!
Port MacDonnell's weather was often wet and wild - one particular storm wreaking havoc in 1957.
